Exchanges, Discounts, etc.

In-store:

Return mint condition product (hasn't been opened, still has the tags attached, packaging in original condition, doesn’t smell like cigarette smoke, hasn’t been washed – you know the drill) for store credit within 14 days of original purchase with receipt or evidence of purchase through our customer database.

​Some exclusions apply: bulk products (refills), face coverings, personal care products, as well as sale and discounted items are all final sale.

During holiday shopping, purchases made from "Black Friday" until December 24th can be exchanged until January 15th. However, they must still meet all of our other exchange criteria, including discounted items being final sale.

Online:

The above restrictions apply, but you must email us at howdy@wareavl.com for approval and to begin the return process. If you're worried about the environmental impact of your purchases, know that you can save fuel and materials by asking all your product questions up front; we're happy to help!

Customers are responsible for return shipping. Once initiated, online exchanges can be expected to be processed and leave Ware within 3 business days of receiving your return/exchange order. Shipping times are determined by chosen shipping methods and subject to USPS fluctuations in mail volume.

Discounts and Sales:

Products purchased at a discount are final sale and sold as is. For many of the same reasons regarding this small business' need for reliable finances, we cannot apply discounts retroactively or extend them beyond their expiration dates. This applies to discount codes, which will only be honored if submitted at the time of purchase. Additionally, unless otherwise stated, discounts do not apply to gift cards or shipping and delivery fees unless specifically stated.

A bit more on exchanges & discounts:

We pride ourselves on sourcing products that are not only beautiful, but built to last. If you don’t enjoy looking at it and it doesn’t serve its purpose, we’d just be bringing more junk into the world. And that’s not how we roll. So, while we have a rather strict return policy, we stand behind the integrity of our products and can only continue to serve our customers in that way if you come forward with defective and misrepresented merchandise. We’ll always do what we reasonably can to get the best goods in your hands. In those cases, we still ask that you let us know within a reasonable amount of time from the purchase date. When a product has been out of our hands for long enough, it puts us in a weird position to have ask about what has happened to the product since it left Ware.

We ask that you remember that Ware is a small business with one location in Asheville, NC. Your purchases (and returns) have a big impact on our ability to stick around and continue supporting the sustainable brands and artisans whose pieces we carry. Help us help them by shopping intentionally the first time.

Personal Care Products:

We'd like to elaborate a bit more on why our personal care products, specifically, are final sale. We spend a lot of time and resources sourcing effective natural skin and hair care products. We research ingredients, test products for months, and make our friends try them. This is all to be sure we're curating a superior collection of products that work for most people. However, the skin's microbiome is a complex ecosystem. We will wax poetic all day about how well our products work for us - and even most people - but we will not guarantee you will have the same results. We can't, there are too many variables at play. And we, as a small, independent retailer, can't afford to back up unrealistic claims with money. We have testers of almost all skincare products in the shop and invite you to thoroughly try it out before you buy it - even if you want to try it every day for a week! We appreciate any and all feedback about the efficacy of anything you buy from us.
