Sustainable scented candles are a tough nut to crack. That's why it took me six months to develop my dream candle - and most of that time was spent blending the perfect combination of essential oils in just the right ratios.

This may be the coziest candle that ever existed. It's the scent of winter clothes coming out from their summer hibernation, freshly-polished hardwood floors, and raking up dried foliage from a long, hot summer. It's simultaneously bright and earthy. It's coming home to a clean home after a week away and realizing it's time to pack up the window unit for next year's heat. 

If you love the smell of plant-based fragrances, but steer away from synthetic blends, this is the candle for you.

Burn time: 40+ hours, if you keep your wick trimmed and tidy

Contents: US-grown soy wax, organic lavender essential oil, organic cedar essential oil, organic bergamot essential oil, organic vetiver essential oil, and a pure cotton wick

Vessel: This candle is sold in an 8-ounce amber jar with a black lid. Depending when you make your purchase, you may notice some variations in the jar and lid styles from the photo here. That's because we reuse vessels that are in great condition. Some served a former life as a chili crisp jar and others are on their second round of candle hosting. If you'd like to return your vessel, we ask that it's empty, clean, dry, labels removed, and the lid is looking good! If all those boxes are checked, shoot an email to howdy[at]wareavl.com, and we'll sort out a jar transfer if we can. If you live too far away for that option, donate it to your local refill shop. It's a great jar.

As with all candles, burn within sight and extinguish if you're leaving home. Keep away from children and flammable materials. Seriously, it's not worth it.
